river
1rst day : 7h30 taxi from Maroantsetra to
Ankompa, 30 minutes . Metal boat transfer to Ambodivoangy, 2h30 on the
Antainambalana river, the main communication way of the area..
10 minutes of
easy walk to reach the camp; 1rst walk in the fabulous Makira primary forest looking for White fronted brown Lemur, Helmet
Vanga and Crested Ibis .The afternoon trying to find the Red Ruffed Lemur
and Short Leg Ground Roller on the waterfall trail. Night walk. Camping fullboard.
2nd Day : Early
birdwatching, 7h30 breakfast, crossing the river to visit Ambodivoangy village: Betsimisaraka
way of life, rice field, WCS development projects.
Leaving before10:00 am. Less than 2 hours on the river to reach Amkompa.
In Maroantsetra around 1:00pm.
